Toronto's craigslist provided me another 1969 blue floor Lundby house today. It is in much better condition than the last one I bought - see: I got a Lundby house!!
This one had been given to a women who is now 47 when she was six. It had been gently played with and then put in storage for decades. I looks brand new.
It doesn't have a transformer and doesn't look like it ever did.
It appears that someone has recently painted the roof brown, but otherwise it is in wonderful condition. there is clear vinyl in the windows - unlike the other one whose windows are empty.
I have furnished it with the original Lundby furniture from the first house. It looks lovely.
I will look for a transformer, and maybe more furniture for the living room. Now there is only a chair, TV and coffee table, not counting the fireplace. I also need another chair for the dining room.
I am very pleased with this house. I hope you have enjoyed the tour. Let me know if you can tell me more about it.
Hugs,
Susan
Lovely, lovely! I have been wanting one myself! I am always taken with the wallpapers in the older Lundby houses, and this one is no exception! The condition of the house does seem very good for its age -- congrats on your fine find :) Hope you will show us more soon.
ReplyDeleteIt looks fabulous. I love the Lundby furniture. It is so well designed. I especially like the floor lamps.Good hunting! CM

ReplyDeleteOh my... I adore the wall paper in this little house. I am trying to find all natural or dark wood furniture like you have much of. So now you have two of these. I am delighted for you and also am going to start checking Craig's List myself locally. This house does look brand new also. What a treasure! I love all the lamps and especially the double bed in the bedroom.
ReplyDeleteSusan, it's a lovely house!!! Love they way you have decorated it.

Thanks everyone. I am glad you enjoyed seeing the house. I am still a little stunned at being able to find it so easily. It had been posted for several days on Craigslist before I answered the ad.
ReplyDeleteThe last time I tried to buy a Lundby house on Craigslist there was a feeding frenzy with people fighting each other to get it. The advetiser of that one told everyone that her husband had given it to someone at this office and it was no longer available. I think she made that up to get everyone off her back.
You are right, Nicloa. I need people. I will have a look at your link.
Hugs

very very pure 60s and elegant, the teak furniture is one of my favourite traits of these decade and although I have often seen this classic yellow bathroom with wooden panels I never saw the washbasin construction.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to further additions like dolls, carpets or curtains.
It's a terrific house, Susan - what a great find! Now, who will live here? I look forward to updates!
